DISCO PRIMITIVE ∞ HANDMADE ∞ ONE OF A KIND
I worked all summer on this project, I assembled a team of women to collaborate with me, I got to lead them as we worked all summer to create this womb space that was situated underneath the Furtherrr Amphitheater at the Symbiosis 2015 gathering. The Wizard dudes were on stage inspiring a generation by alchemizing their pigments into interdimensional portals bewitching & inspiring. We ladies were down in the womb holding “Space” ;} Spinning our own magic!
Simon and I were collaborating on this piece. She and I had met on 420 that year while at an intimate gathering with Alex & Allison Grey. Allison had suggested I might experiment with creating totems from the roadkill I’d been working with. I kept that in mind.
A few days later I had a vision of Simone and I collaborating at Symbiosis. I knew I wanted to contribute to the gathering and now I had the vision of an offering. I met with her and after an afternoon, we’d come as far as committing to fleshing a frozen deer hide, stretching it on this frame I would make, she would paint on the rawhide and I would weave around the edges.
As things progressed and the Furtherrr stage came together an opportunity arose for me to take over the underside of the amphitheater. Calling upon and assembling old friends and new, we worked all summer to create this space. We didn’t have any exact measurements so we created elements to flesh out whatever space we were given.
We created an Herb alter with hanmade herbal & medicinal remedies, offered Tea sevice, and a live collaboration, weaving & painting. Disco Primitive as Simone suggested. I loved that interpretation!
This project could not have manifested with out the Devine Feminine and Masculine energies working together symbiotically dancing and weaving the magical threads that cultivated these dreams into reality. So grateful to witness and co-create with such an awesome family!
