EXISTENTIAL ACTION TEMPLE
Water, Earth, Air, Fire you are the vessel. Let us open our hearts. Surrender to the inner exploration, the watery depths of our souls evolution. Releasing our fears & expressing our innermost truths. Together, infinite reflections, compassion flows. We are here to witness to integrate release & renew. Death & resurrection in a moment of full bloom, with true strength we soften within the temple. A warm cup of tea in hand, a smile to melt away the chill of deep isolation. Healing hands invite us to come home to our bodies, these celestial vessels that allow us to experience a dynamic spectrum of pleasure & pain. Let us celebrate with reverence through connection the Divine Comedy that we call Life.
As long as one possesses the great health, (pain, suffering & tragedy) are to be not only welcomed but worshipped as the great stimulator of life. We will only grow stronger through the accidents that threaten to destroy us.The heights one scales when one is able to look into the dreadful abyss of life, to experiment with the most painful thoughts and the most extreme form of nihilism, and still be able to emerge from such depths and affirm life saying yes to it in its totality is arguably the highest state a human being can attain.

Navigating The Liminal, 49”x70”, mixed media, 2018
Please contact Mirus Gallery for availability or to view in person info@mirusgallery.com 🙏
Some notes on my materials;
Brain tanned sheepskin & rabbit hide. Found doe skull & two point buck antler also found. I made the rattle using pieces of rawhide from a buck I’d found on the road, same hide I made my drum from. The leg of a younger deer also roadkill. One of the arrowheads is made from a California king snake also roadkill. Homemade arrows;) Wild Turkey feathers, shark tooth, wool roving & raw wool fleece, cotton fiber and other mixed media.
When I’m finishing a piece it must contain sacrifice, a true offering. An offering of something “deer” to me. Either objects that Ive carried for a long time or materials that I’ve found & or harvested & worked over until I’ve stabilized them. I am grateful for this intimacy. For this knowing. Caring for & absorbing the effects of these animals killed on the road forces me to face death. Flesh & Bones, life & death, to contemplate and learn to navigate the Liminal... If a piece contains to many virgin materials & I have no memorable connection or experience with them, if they didn’t demand something from deep within, if they didn’t evoke emotion & contemplation the piece feels void to me.
I have to care, the piece has to mean something to me beyond the potential of a monetary reimbursement or temporary inflation of accolades otherwise what’s the point? Another whirl on the ego trip? What’s the real challenge, to what degree am I willing to grow & do the work?
It has to hurt a little to let it go. I have to know that I’m at the very least offering something genuine.
Regardless to wether or not I was successful in transmitting the download.
If these pieces are going to require sacred objects temporarily in my possession, then my aim must be Nobel. To create something worthy of calling upon the divine creative force & asking for these objects to speak. So that others may hear.
As a Sagittarius with a Pisces rising may my arrow always be aimed at TRUTH and LOVE
That’s all for now

GRAND OPENING PART 2
Group Exhibition
June 1-30, 2018
Mirus Gallery is excited to celebrate its Grand Opening Part 2. Due to an overwhelming response to our first Grand opening and a large roster of artists who weren’t able to exhibit in the first exhibition, we decided to do it again. The gallery will open with a dynamic group exhibition featuring a variety of staple artists represented by the gallery over the years, as well as new international exhibitors who carry the gallery's curatorial visions into the future. VIP and press private opening and champagne toast open Friday June 1, 5:30-7pm. The reception opens to the general public Friday June 1, 7-10pm. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Artists exhibiting: Adam Ian Psybe, Add Fuel, Amanda Lynn, Android Jones, Cedrix Crespel, Cristian Blanxer, Crystal Wagner, CT Nelson, Jaime Brett Treadwell, Jillian Evelyn, Jose de Gregorio, Katrin Fridriks, Kris Kuksi, Nelio, Ricky Lee Gordon, Sparkles Positron, Telmo Miel, Terry Hoff, Uriginal Barcelona, & Xavi Penneton.
For the past 5 years, Mirus Gallery has been championing new movements of contemporary art in San Francisco and will now expand this vision to Denver. Mirus means “astonishing, extraordinary, and strange.” By definition, the curatorial direction of owner, Paul Hemming, presents just that through exhibitions of international emerging and mid-career artists.
Exhibition on view through June 30th
Gallery hours: Tuesday-Saturday 12-6pm

The Existential Action Team’s Founders and Artists Damon Soule and Sparkles Positron designed and led a team of talented artists and crafts workers to create a village centered on a week long live collaboration with Artists Mars 1, Damon Soule, Oliver Vernon, Nome Edonna and David Choong Lee. Its been over a decade since these artists first began collaborating, over the years these five artists have had the opportunity to create and collaborate in front of a generation hungry for inspiration.
Going beyond the boundaries of the studio into the open air under the sun the stars the rain and now their second eclipse. The environment created for the Oregon Eclipse was inspired by love! By remembering a time of innocence when we dared to dream and those dreams carried us to the tree tops, to a mystical village of interwoven forts and swings, a tea house with potions & elixirs, the hearth, music, a jam room, creation unfolding before you, laughter and tears, play and creating all under a total Solar Eclipse what better medicine!
We believe in creating environments that balance both the Feminine and Masculine energies while honoring the elements. We strive to create spaces that are personal, that acknowledge all senses and that can transport you into an altered state of consciousness while feeling safe and supported. We want to inspire and bewitch!

A group show contemplating the current state of San Francisco.
October 22, 2016 - December 5, 2016
Humming Home In The Way Of Progress, 44in x 45in, mixed media
San Francisco has, at one time or another, been called home by a dynamic list of flora, fauna, creatures, and spirits. The current exodus and influx of the 7x7 territory called San Francisco is, in fact part of a long history of such scenes. For my piece, I pay homage to the Ohlone people, who were displaced long before Google and that tit watching app arrived. Rather than focusing on the injustice and deepening a wedge between us, I heed you to be grateful for you time, your experiences, your relationships, growth, expansion and adventures in this city. Where ever you choose to go, bring light into that place, be mindful, of those who are already there, be humbled by your rival, be open to learning, be patient and kind to the flora and fauna that surround you. Protect what is sacred to you, be vigilant, and adapt. -Sparkles
July 23 - September 3, 2016
San Francisco – Mirus Gallery is set to feature its newest show Meet Me At The Dogstar by Bay Area artists Sparkles Positron and Damon Soule. The gallery’s opening reception will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 and the show will be on view through Saturday, August 20, 2016.
From the Artists:
“In Meet Me At The Dogstar Damon Soule and Sparkles Positrons (Julianne Yates) third collaborative show, the couple attempt to literally leap light years away. Their previous two shows End Of This World Tour in 2012 and Tag It And Bag It in 2013, were centered around road trips and their opportunity for exploration, inspiration, and existential action. This time around the two conduct a metaphysical experiment in interstellar travel, soul contracts, and ripples through time using infinity as the medium.
Why the dogstar? Why not?
The two will present a body of work consisting of several collaborative, and solo works as well as an interactive installation. Sparkles’ work, with its emphasis on texture, bright colors, and natural materials which she harvests and processes herself, perfectly contrasts Soule’s maximalist, undulating, optical eye fry, and light controlled crystal synthesizers. Together they weave a magical space which immerses the viewer in the artists sensory spaceship.
Meet Me At The Dogs
This project could not have manifested with out the Devine Feminine and Masculine energies working together symbiotically dancing and weaving the magical threads that cultivated these dreams into reality. So grateful to witness and co-create with such an awesome family!

BE HERE NOW
BE HERE NOW
BE HERE NOW
Be Here Now, this was the last installation & performance that I curated and created in the Gallery that I owned and operated from 2009-2013. Over the course of four years I performed the part of a Gallerist, researching the part becoming the character, I began glancing into the future and realizing my motivations were leading me down a narrowing path that began to lack freedom and a fulfilling purpose.
By 2011, I would be consumed and confronted with my own death, my legacy and its temperance, igniting an illuminated path, beckoning me out of the darkness. By the end of 2014 I was cooked, clinging to an identity I no longer recognized, struggling to free myself yearning for the end credits. Still suffering in desire and bumping into abandoned opportunities haunting me like hungry ghosts. The chord cutting ceremony was in order, It was going to hurt to concede but as I spoke the words Be Here Now i knew what needed to be done. I closed the gallery and on the last day I welcomed myself home with a smile.
*Over the course of these four years I documented my experience addressing an audience that never saw the video entries I created, one of my dreams is to realize and help to manifest a finished documentary, to share my journey to tell my story and to connect with you.
A collaborative installation featured in Damon Soule's solo exhibition, Quintessence 2014
The concept and design for this installation were based on Bacteriophages, (if you don't know what they are go look them up!) The phage injects its DNA into bacteria to replicate itself and so then; the Jampophage injects its DNA(music & Light) into its hosts (humans) taking over the humans body and rhythmically animating humans causing electrical currents to vibrate waves that reverberate generating a pleasurable sound that prompts the human hosts to continue and attract more hosts to join in furthering the replication of the Jamophage, proliferating through music and color!
Existential Action Team members Sparkles Positron, D23Electron, and Cool Story, set off last month for the worlds largest gem and mineral show in Tucson Az. What unfolded over the next two weeks across the Southwest can only be described as astonishing and unforgettably opening. Synchronistic clues were left like a dotted line across the regions sun soaked desserts, and the occasionally odd but beautiful human settlement. As the team collected, tagged and subsequently bagged any evidence that could be reassembled later, it became increasingly clear a multiversal message was being scrawled atop our dimensional plane. We are presently at the decoding stage of this mission, and the Existential Action Teams' Information Technologies dept
In the summer of 2012, two naive souls set across the country in search of inspiration in whatever plant, animal, or mineral they encountered. Traveling in their ship the “Crystal Teardrop” and armed with only some musical instruments, paints and their half wits, they sought the unseekable. It makes sense if you don’t think about it.
As the name implies "the end of this world tour" was a project that stemmed from the upcoming controversial Mayan calendar date of December 21st 2012. The decision to use end of "This World" rather than "The World" puts the emphasis on the date being a time of change rather than some type of apocalyptic catastrophe. Whether the date is real or imagined makes no difference, as we can always create positive change in ourselves and going out into the world with this in mind was our goal.
The great American road trip is now through, but the transformative experience lives on in our hearts. This art installation aims to convey the excitement of waking up in a different environment almost daily, through the exploration of the concepts of sacred space, metamorphosis, and personal growth through travel. Some of these ideas are examined through the lens
of comparative mythology, with a focus on metaphorical characters which populate many of the worlds spiritual philosophies. Some of these archetypes are represented with small alters or are hinted at through the use of symbolic objects in the larger shrine itself. The centerpiece is largely constructed from the teardrop trailer we built to travel the country in, and the majority of the assembled elements were collected throughout the trip. Our adventure and this show has been a labor of love and we hope this comes through in the work.

The Waves of Funk, embodies the creative collaborative exploration of Miss Moth, Snowbroth & Sparkles Positron.
Their experimentations spans copious mediums & materials. Journeying into the esoteric, tip toeing, tight rope walking, collapsing into the void & re-emerging as cosmic clowns sharing cosmic jokes.
Their collective experiences distilled & coalesced, shape shift into assemblages that nudge us beyond the dark nights & into the warmth of summer rays. The hearth awaits.
Come rest & remember all that is right & all that is bright as we navigate these waves of funk! Experience the kaleidoscopic textural explosions called Sparkly Moth Broth.
